Jack Mostert, founder of Artisan Signs & Lighting, had his beginning many years ago in 1947 when he was a young student at the Art Institute of Chicago.
During those early years, Artisan Signs & Lighting was known as Mostert & Ferguson, which specialized in sign lettering, gold leaf and neon signs.
Starting in 1968, small fluorescent illuminated plastic signs started to be manufactured.
In 1977, through the acquisition of Artisan Signs & Lighting, a sizable manufacturing plant allowed production of virtually any size sign.
