Sign Language is a woman-owned and operated company, founded in 1998 by Lisa with her husband John. Sign Language is certified as a Woman-Owned Business (WBE), and also Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) and Emerging Small Business (ESB) by Oregon Department of Minority Women Emerging Small Business. Sign Language is also a Small Business Concern as defined by the Small Business Administration.

By using Sign Language, General Contractors can increase their WBE, DBE and ESB participation on projects, and know that they are helping stimulate the local economy. Sign Language employs sustainable packaging and production strategies, which minimize transportation distance. Sign Language has made company-wide efforts to reduce carbon emissions, including using recycled products when available, purchasing wind generated electricity, and encouraging employee carpooling.

Sign Language has been a supporter of EWEB's Windpower (now Greenpower) since the program began. We recycle all materials that are currently recyclable in the area, and purchase recycled products including paper products and reconditioned toner cartridges.
Services
Transit Signs
Report
Sign Language created custom signage for Lane Transit District's EmX bus rapid transit system, and provided all of the signage for EmX projects, including the Franklin EmX line, Gateway Station and Gateway EmX line.
These projects had high standards of quality, aesthetics and durability.
The EmX signage system utilized stainless steel, aluminum and porcelain enamel construction techniques.
They were built with the goal of providing many years of trouble-free service to LTD.
Most of these signs are within the riders' touch-zones, and have held up beautifully since their installation.
Gateway Station
Report
Gateway Station is a large station with several bus routes and EmX service located at Gateway Mall in Springfield, Oregon.
This station has 6 stainless steel lighted cabinets.
Three of these are larger system information cabinets, the remainder are in the EmX station style.
Gateway Station also has two porcelain enamel EmX destination signs, and one station name sign that consists of 22-tall anodized aluminum letters mounted to the structure of the shelter.
Sign Language designed and implemented improvements to the fabrication details after our experience with the Franklin EmX sign construction.
Dimensional Plastic Letters
Report
Dimensional Letters can be made from acrylic, metal, formed plastic or many other materials.
We like to use stand-offs from the wall.
This allows water to drain behind the letters, and provides a natural shadow effect.
Dimensional letters are an excellent choice when the building provides a visually clean background.
Dimensional letters can also be added to a monument sign or wall sign for added impact.
Lighted Freestanding Signs
Report
Lighted Freestanding Signs are sometimes also called "Pole Signs" or "Lighted Monuments".
These signs do not mount onto a building, but rather they stand on their own with a pole or other concrete foundation.
Freestanding signs are frequently the first sign that customers see when going to a new location.
They add visibility to business locations that are situated back from the street and help customers find their way to your business.
They are frequently used in multi-tenant complexes and shopping centers to provide each business with street visibility.
Braille / ADA
Report
Sign Language is committed to accurate Braille translation.
We read Braille in-house and proof every sign before production.
We have worked with low-vision advocacy groups and understand how to avoid common errors that are created by automated Braille translation software.
When a higher standard of accuracy is required, we can obtain review from a certified Braille expert.
While tactile signs are primarily functional, we also take care to ensure that they are visually pleasing and enhance the looks of the area.
